Lecture 08 — Rotation
Learning objectives
Students should be able to:
- Describe rotation using angular position, velocity and acceleration, and relate them to the linear motion of a point on the body.
- Calculate moments of inertia and torques, and use Στ = Iα to find angular accelerations.
- Use work, power and energy methods for rotating and rolling bodies.
- Use angular momentum and its conservation, including when the moment of inertia changes.
